The world’s biggest sporting Carnival ‘Olympics’ has been kicked off with a grand opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics 2024. Around 10,500 athletes will be representing 205 countries or delegations in the biggest and oldest-ever global sporting competition.

Speaking of India, the country of 1.4 billion has now all its hopes on 117 athletes participating across 16 different disciplines. The list of disciplines will include Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Equestrian, Gold, Hockey, Judo, Rowing, Sailing, Shooting, Swimming, Table Tennis, and Tennis.

Meanwhile, the hopes of all the Indian sports fans across the world ignited with the entry of their 117 national heroes in the opening ceremony of Paris 2024. The thrilling moment came when the Indian Contingent passed through the historic Seine River during the 'innovative' parade of nations. The Table tennis legend Achanta Sharath Kamal, and two-time Olympic medalist Badminton star, PV Sindhu led the Indian contingent as the flagbearers.

The video of this amazing moment of Indian Contingent’s entry in the parade of nations is also making rounds on social media as soon as it was shared on X (formerly Twitter).

Just a few hours after the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics 2024, Indian athletes will be seen participating across various disciplines, for India’s medal hunt. On Friday, July 27, India’s day will start with the shooting, where Sandeep Singh, Arjun Babuta, Elavenil Valarivan, and Ramita Jindal will be seen in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team qualification.

It will be followed by Sarabjot Singh and Arjun Cheema’s participation in the 10m Air Pistol Men’s qualification. Shooting will be followed by Tennis where the young star Sumit Nagal will represent India men’s singles.

Later, the Indian tennis great Rohan Bopanna, alongside N Sriram Balaji will team up in the first round of the men’s doubles against the French duo of Reboul and Roger-Vasselin.

Notably, it will be a swansong appearance for some of the Indian sporting greats, including the likes of tennis legend Rohan Boppana, TT veteran Achanta Sharat Kamal, and badminton star PV Sindhu.
