The Paris Olympics yesterday was not a great day for India as they missed out on two Olympic medals and Nisha Dahiya also bowed out of the quarter-finals in wrestling. There are still some great wrestlers in the Indian team who can go on to win a medal in the Paris Olympics and we all will be looking forward to these performances in the global event.

One of the best wrestlers in the contest, Vinesh Phogat, is one of the biggest stars in Indian wrestling right now and is a three-time Commonwealth Games Gold medalist and one-time Asian Games Gold medalist. It is safe to say that she is one of the top wrestlers and will be one of the favourites for India to medal in this global event. However, Phogat was up against World number one Yui Susaki which was going to be a tough fight to win.

Phogat surprises everyone

This match was looking to go in favour of Susaki from the start, but from out of nowhere Phogat came into the scene and surprised the World number one. Phogat though trailing early into the match went on to get some big points and went on to emerge victorious in the match. It was one of the most shocking victories where Susaki who was also the gold medalist in Tokyo suffered one of her rare early eliminations in one of the most global events in sporting history. This was a big surprise and a proud moment for every Indian sports fan.

This now means Vinesh Phogat will be moving on to her quarter-finals of the 50 Kg freestyle event which will really be a moment that the Indian fans cannot ignore at all. She will be up against either Oksana Livach or Aktenge Keunimjaeva in the upcoming match and will want to make the most of that opportunity to get closer to her first Olympic medal in her career.
