One of the top midfielders in the current generation, Pedri spoke highly of the abilities possessed by Lamine Yamal. He even drew comparisons of Yamal with an eight-time Ballon d'Or winner and the highest goal-scorer in Barçelona's history - Lionel Messi.
Lionel Messi has long been dubbed the 'Alien' for his incredible dribbling skills which has been a headache for top defenders across the globe. The 17-year-old prodigy is seen emulating Messi's footsteps in the current generation. Lamine Yamal's dribbles have astonished fans and players all over the world. His silky touch and insane ball control have consistently humiliated top defenders this season.
"When Lamine gets the ball, you know he’s gonna dribble the first opponent easily… and then something can happen. It’s similar to the feeling we had when Messi was in the squad," Pedri said.
Lamine Yamal's style of play is often reminiscent of Lionel Messi's era where the little boy from Rosario scored numerous goals on his own.
FC Barcelona are set to face Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League at Estadio Olimpic Lluís Companys on April 10th.
