Scotland had a nightmare on Friday at the iconic Allianz Arena in Munich. They were thumped 5-1 by Germany in the opening game of the UEFA Euro 2024. The Tartan Army will be looking for a comeback in their next game and there might be some change in tactics as well. Steve Clarke's side still has two games to achieve their goal of getting out of the group and the manager will try to make a comeback.

They had not been in their best form before coming to this tournament as they only defeated Gibraltar in nine games before this match. The home side outperformed in every aspect of the game as they opened the scoring in the first 10 minutes of the game. Jama Musiala and Florian Wirtz were excellent and unplayable at Munich.

A side with named stars like Andrew Robertson, Scott McTominay, Billy Gilmour, and many more could do much of the work in their first game. The Liverpool full-back needs to step up for the side in the remaining games of the group stages as they will look to even make up the goal difference and be the third-best side to qualify for the knockouts.

Scotland have to change their mentality: Ally McCoist

Ally McCoist after the game said, "Scotland have to change their mentality ahead of their next two games. Scotland has to get balls into the box and get players forward. There has to be a completely different approach. It should be slightly easier now as I don’t believe the other two teams will be at the same standard. They are good teams, but not as good as Germany."

Clarke was clear before a ball was kicked he felt that his side needed four points from nine to get out of Group A. He has asked the Tartan Army to keep faith in the team as they will look to bounce back and in the post-match conference he overlooked any questions regarding the tactics and said, "It's all about the reaction."
