The Indian Premier League (IPL) is making headlines once more as the deadline for all teams to declare their player retention draws near. Today each franchise must turn in their retention roster by 5:00 PM. For this year's mega auction, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has yet again selected a foreign country. 

This year's major auction will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for the very first time. The board has not yet made a public announcement, but trustworthy sources have told Hindustan Times the fact that the auction is scheduled to take place in Riyadh on November 24 and 25.

A source told Hindustan Times last week that, "Yes, we are looking at Riyadh for the mega auction. The auction will be a two-day affair this time around. A team has gone to Riyadh to do the proper verification and all. We are looking at hotels, and once the booking is done, we will make the formal announcement."

If the rumours are true, then there is a high possibility that football legend, Cristiano Ronaldo might be present for the mega auction. The BCCI is known to make impossible things possible and it would be certainly be a dream scenario for all cricket lovers and football lovers to unite for this exciting moment.

According to Cristiano Ronaldo’s current schedule in the month of November, Al-Nassr is scheduled to play Qadisiya on November 22nd at home in Riyadh. However, they have to travel to Qatar on the 24th of November for their AFC Asian Champions League encounter against Al Gharafa. Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Nassr will face Al Gharafa on the 25th November at the Al Bayt stadium in Qatar. If the BCCI can get Ronaldo on board to attend the mega-auction, it is more or less likely that it would happen on the first day of the auction.
