Spain are back home and have been getting huge reception across the nation after winning the EURO 2024 title. The match winning goal was scored by Mikel Oyarzabal in the 86th minute.

The Spanish star posted a short video recently where he could be seen given a rousing welcome by the fans. It has been a whirlwind time for the 27-year-old Real Sociedad star who helped Spain win the game in the dying moments of the match.

The final saw the Spanish side win the game 2-1 to lift their 4th title. Niko Williams had scored the first goal in the game before Cole Palmer made it 1-1. The tournament saw the emergence of Niko Williams and Lamine Yamal as the youngsters played a key role in the title win.

Lamine Yamal opts for new jersey number at Barcelona

Young Spanish sensation Lamine Yamal is set to wear the number 19 jersey next season. This was the same number that Lionel Messi wore in his formative years at Barcelona as the Number 10 jersey was held by Ronaldinho.

FC Barcelona put out a statement which read “The uncertainty is over. Lamine Yamal to be an official first team player this season, will wear number 19 for the 2024/25 season. The teenager follows in the footsteps of several high profile players during FC Barcelona’s history”

The statement also read “And it is also the number he wore during the EURO 2024 tournament in which he was named the Young Player of the Tournament after a series of performances that captivated the world”

Meanwhile, there are reports coming out of Camp Nou that Jorge Mendez who happens to be the agent of Lamine Yamal is seeking better wages for his client. The move comes after Lamine Yamal became the youngest ever player to win the EURO title.

According to reports, FC Barcelona are more than happy to sit across the table and hold talks over new wages. The move comes into play after it was said that there is a chance that Paris Saint Germain could make a move for the youngster. PSG have recently lost their marquee player Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid on the free.
