Liverpool were already out of the English Premier League title race, coming into the final day of the PL. The Reds won their last game against Wolves 2-0, on Sunday and finished their campaign on a high note. The game was a farewell match for Jurgen Klopp as well, the German manager already announced his departure from the club after the end of the league. In 9 years of his spell, he has been brilliant as a coach. 

The former Borussia Dortmund coach has been one of the finest managers in PL history as he led the side to their first league title after 30 years, winning the UEFA Champions League as well.  Anfield were waiting for the post-match scenes as soon as the final whistle was blown, however, as the legendary coach was honoured. After 90 minutes the club captain Virgil van Dijk was seen hugging the manager as both of them burst into tears.

Under the manager, he appeared in 270 games for the iconic club. Trent Alexander-Arnold came through the ranks of the academy and was also promoted by the Germans.

A fairytale ending of Jurgen Klopp 

Anfield also bid farewell to Thiago, Joel Matip and Klopp's coaching staff, such as assistants Pep Lijnders, Peter Krawietz, Vitor Matos, John Achterberg and Jack Robinson. The coach also confirmed on the final day about the new manager Arne Slot who will be taking charge from next season. The 32-year-old defender also gave an emotional interview with Sky Sports stating, "I’ve got no words, it’s a very emotional day. Liverpool is Liverpool, it’s special."

Under the managerialship of Klopp, the side has played 489 games across all competitions, winning 304 and losing just 85 of the games with a PPM of 2.07. The legendary coach also confirmed that he will be back in coaching in the next season and will not take a break, as he previously said he wants a break from coaching.
