Why is Arsenal midfielder Gabriel Martinelli important for Brazil?
Arsenal midfielder Gabriel Martinelli has been phenomenal for Brazil. In his last three national duties, Martinelli has scored two goals. Earlier this month Martinelli started for Brazil against Mexico in a friendly match and scored a goal which was his last international goal.
Notably, earlier this year Martinelli was out of action due to a foot injury. He missed Brazil’s friendlies in March while also failing to make it for Arsenal’s Premier League game against Brentford. The Brazilian superstar made 44 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal last season.
In those games, he scored eight goals and picked up five assists for the team. Martinelli who is valued at £60 million recently responded to reports that the Gunners were in the market for another forward. He had said, “The people who play at Arsenal are very good. The club has to have the best players to have a chance of being champions. We have an outstanding team, with many players of incredible quality.”
