During an investigation at his preferred beach club, Manchester City player Erling Haaland was approached by police wearing balaclavas and requested to provide his identity. The Norwegian international has been captured on camera putting his hands in his pockets to retrieve his ID after being taken aback while relaxing at the well-known Playa Padre hangout in the Marbella resort. Helicopters hovering overhead, heavily armed police wearing riot gear were seen sprinting into the beach nightclub moments ago.

The Hollywood star Eva Longoria officially opened the club in 2017. Three weeks prior, in a similar operation, police donning body armour raided the well-known Ocean Beach club in adjacent Puerto Banus. This Sunday night's dramatic raid took place there. Astonished British vacationers, dressed in bikinis and swimsuits, were told to exit the pool before they could provide identification.

After several gunshots in the region, there were back-to-back club raids, which prompted the start of Operation Marbella during April in order to safeguard British and Irish tourists. After Norway missed out on qualifying for Euro 2024, Haaland is spending some time relaxing in Marbella, where he and his ex-footballer father Alfie own property. When he is in town, he usually makes time to visit Playa Padre.

What was Erling Haaland seen doing last week?

Last weekend, he was spotted there, having fun and dancing with a DJ right in front of several other partygoers. Regarding Sunday's amazing broad daylight raid, club owners have still not commented on social media, and the Spanish National Police are yet to release any details about the operation.

On April 11, Operation Marbella was initiated. At the time, authorities alerted residents and tourists about the possibility of increased arbitrary stops and police roadblocks within and outside the vacation spot. The pictures from the operation, which continued for about two hours and included a police aircraft hovering above as the officers moved in, explained why some revellers felt uncomfortable about their getaways being abruptly cut short.
