Ronaldo etch new record
The former Real Madrid forward after the assist on Saturday has eight assists in the competition’s history. CR7 also has 15 goals in the tournament. This is his sixth appearance in the major tournament as he became the first footballer to achieve the milestone and might also be the last as well he will turn 43 by the time the next tournament comes and will not be featuring in the national side given the quality of football played in Europe.
After two wins in two games, Roberto Martinez's side tops the league table and has almost secured their place in the RO16. They would like to win the tournament for Ronaldo as this might be his best farewell for the highest international goalscorer of all time.
