Bayer Leverkusen has been in excellent form in the current season. The team are on the verge of winning the Bundesliga for the first time in the club's history. Xabi Alonso has fully transformed the side into one of the best sides to compete in the European stages with the other big clubs. They have not lost a single game this season are on an unbeaten streak of 40 games and are 13 points ahead in the Bundesliga table from Bayern Munich.

On Thursday, they continued to show their dominant display as they trashed Fortuna Düsseldorf 4-0 in the German Cup semifinal. During the game something funny happened, as right full back Jeremie Frimpong after scoring the first goal in the 7th minute did a wild celebration, while Amine Adli did a weed-themed celebration along with his partner. The celebration was special because, on April 1st 2024, laws on marijuana were legalized in the country.

After breaking the deadlock, the Dutch went up to Adli, who did the dramatic by rolling and lighting up a joint before passing it over to his teammate. He eagerly accepted the gift and took a good, long drag. Germany became the largest European Union country to legalize marijuana possession for recreational use. They are too good for any opponent as the side has not won any major trophy since 1993.

Will Leverkusen be unbeaten at the end of the season?

After the law changed, it is no longer illegal for people in the country to possess up to 25g of marijuana in public. The citizens are also now allowed to grow their plants at home. Next, they will be facing West Ham United in the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals. They will try to win a treble for the first time in the club's history.

The question remains only if they will be able to complete the whole season unbeaten. Xabi Alonso will be there for one more season with the club and the management hopes that he continues with the same amount of energy and form in the next season as well they have also confirmed their place in the UEFA Champions League group stage.
