Assistant referee collapse during Peru vs Canada (Source- Twitter)
Peru is facing Canada in the Group A clash of the Copa America 2024. The game has so far been evenly matched as both sides have failed to open the scoring. However the game has been end to end and quite interesting as well, the sides having their chances but they failed to capitalise on the same. With the match on the go, something unusual happened during the game.
The second assistant referee collapsed on the field right ahead of the first half of the game. Due to excessive heat in Kansas City USA, there have been warnings of heatstrokes, and a similar happened in the match. While running in the sideline the linesman Humberto Panjoj appeared to have collapsed in direct sunlight on the field. According to The Athletic, the temperature at the time of the incident was 91 degrees, felt like 101 degrees, with a humidity of 51%.

Peru nearing yet another draw
