Aleksander Ceferin spoke in an interview about how clubs and top players have blamed UEFA for increasing the number of matches over the past few years. The UEFA President explains his point of view and reveals why there is a need for increasing matches regularly. Some players have also threatened to go on a strike if this continues.

The UEFA President recently was asked a question about this and rather than shying away from this, he said, "We must recognize that the match calendar has reached full capacity. But I have to add this, who is complaining?  The ones who have the highest salaries and clubs with 25 top players. Those with lower salaries and just 11 players are not complaining. They love to play."

UEFA and ECA sign new MOU till 2033

The European Football Association (UEFA) and the European Club Association (ECA), which together represent more than 700 clubs in 55 European countries, announced on Thursday that their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be extended until 2033.

The agreement, which was signed during the 31st General Assembly of the ECA in Athens, Greece, expands upon the Memorandum of Understanding formed during the 30th General Assembly of the ECA in Berlin and fortifies the framework for cooperation between the two organisations.

UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin and ECA Chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi underlined their partnership at the signing ceremony, which has aided in the growth, stability, and prosperity of European club football for more than 15 years. While UEFA recognizes ECA as the only organization that represents clubs both globally and in Europe, the expanded Memorandum of Understanding affirms ECA's endorsement of UEFA as the authority that oversees football in Europe.

The two organizations' connection has become stronger as a result of this renewal; in recent years, they have worked together on important topics pertaining to European club football, such as new competitive structures, revenue distribution policies, and financial sustainability rules.
