Liverpool hosted Atalanta BC in the 1st leg of UEFA Europa League quarter-finals. With the Reds made some changes from their last game against Manchester United, Mohamed Salah was benched alongside Luis Diaz. The game off to a flying start as both the teams had their chances of scoring in the early minutes of the game. However the travelling team was looking better during their attacks and they scored after Gianluca Scamacca was fumbled in by goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.
Kelleher made some brilliant saves in the first half but conceding a poor one. In the 2nd half started well but after taking in all the pressure the visitors burst another counter with Scamacca scoring his 2nd for the game. Pasalic made it three after a mistake from Szobozslai in the middle of the park taking a re-bound shot of Ederson.

Joe Gomez
Gomez will have a night to forget as he was awful in the right hand side of the pitch and attempted some shots outisde the box which went way over the bar.
Ibrahima Konate-5
Konate had a one of his worst night of his career, as the French centre back was ripped apart by the runs of Scamm
Virgil Van Dijk-5
The Dutch defender had a tough time in the back as his side conceded three with two of the times he was playing the players onside.
Konstantinos Tsimikas- 5.5
Tsimikas had a decent outing as the left-back had tough times against Zappacosta and Copperminers.
Curtis Jones-6
Curtis Jones despite starting the game he could have the control of the midfield and lost positions in the middle of the park except for one chance he did not have the best of his time.
Wataru Endo-6
The Japanese looked a little lost in the first half and had no control over the game, but some changes in the 2nd half led his game open a bit but he could not find a clinical pass inside the box.
Alexis Mac Allister-6.5
Mac Allister had a decent outing as the Argentine failed to have a impact in the midfield neither he was given space for scoring world class goals.
Harvey Elliott-6.5
Elliot was the one of the best man for the side in the first half. One of his curling shot struck the crossbar, then the side post and went out. He was good down the right wing.
Darwin Nunez-5
Nunez had a tough time out on Thursday as the Uruguyan had the best chance for the side with 1v1 against Musso but he put it wide of the keeper.
Cody Gakpo-6
Cody Gakpo had a decent outing tried creating some chances in the first half but failed to have an impact and was thus changed.

Since coming on he tried to make an impact with his dancing foot but Zappacosta well marked him on the wings. He played one brilliant through pass to Diogo Jota but Musso was to the rescue.
Dominik Szoboszlai- 4.5
Szoboszlai was the curlprit for the third goal as he lost the ball in the middle bursting a counter attack for the side.
Mohamed Salah-6.5
Salah had a brilliant chance after coming on as a sub. He almost scored in the early stages but was denied by a brillant save from Musso. The Egyptian scored one but the it was rule out due to offside.

Musso had a fantastic game as the Argentine shotstopper denied one goalscoring opportunity of Mohamed Salah in the early stages of the second half.
Davide Zappacosta-7.5
Zappcosta was brilliant down the right hand side of the pitch, he made some good runs and kept the Liverpool left-back in question all the time.
Berat Djimsiti- 7.5
Djimsiti was absoultely at his best as the centre did not fumble despite the continuos pressure of the Reds in the first half and blocked some vital shots of the home player.
Isak Hien-8
Hien made one brilliant headed clearance inside the box and was excellent to watch throughout the 90 minutes he played. He had a good time blocking Nunez and Salah.
Matteo Ruggeri-8
Ruggeri was the man who cleared one chipped ball of Robertson off the line and help the side in keeping a clean sheet throught the match he was brilliant, though he was booked.
Ederson-7.5
Ederson partnering with Pasalic dominated the middle of the park as the midfielder destroyed the attacks of the Reds in the middle of the park. The third goal should have been his after he picked the ball inside the Liverpool box and made a shot but saved by the Reds keeper.
Marten de Roon- 6.5
Roon was decent as the left-centre back had tough times after Diogo Jota came in and he burst into him and beating him in 1v1 situations as well.
Mario Pasalic-8
Pasalic was brilliant in the middle as he controlled the tempo of the game and dominated the middle of the park. He also scored the 3rd goal after Szoboszlai lost the ball in the middle of the park.
Teun Koopmeiners-7
Koopmeiners was sensational making those creative balls for the wingers on both sides of tthe pitch and had a chance in 2nd half but overpowered the shot wide of the post.
Gianluca Scamacca-9
Scamacca was the destroyer as the striker scored two goals and sealing the game for the side. He was brilliant against the two centre backs of Liverpool.
Charles De Ketelaer-6
Ketelaer except for the one assist did not have the best of chances in the game as the forward was substitued in the last minutes of the game.
