AC Milan faced off against AS Roma in the 1st leg of the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals. Milan did not start the game as they wanted as Roma kept on piling the pressure at San Siro and they broke the deadlock after Gianluca Mancini headed the ball from Paulo Dybala's corner. That goal became the deciding goal of the game though the home side had the best of their chances with Olivier Giroud missing a golden opportunity to put the side on level terms.

The former Chelsea man was not visible tonight as he was well marked by the Roma midfielders and defenders as he could not get many chances in the game.
