France will be starting their UEFA Euro 2024 campaign on Monday against Austria. The Les Blues are one of the favourites to win the ongoing tournament, the amount of quality they possess in their side and the depth of the squad. Didier Deschamps's side has qualified for back-to-back finals of the FIFA World Cup winning in 2018 and losing in 2022. They were knocked out of Euro's previous edition after losing to Switzerland in the RO16.

Austria will be without their star footballer David Alaba and Das Team have never progressed past the round of 16 at the continental championships. Austria's sole defeat from their last 16 matches across all competitions, and not since September 2022. They will look to start their game positively.

Austria Preview:

Austria finished second to Belgium in the qualifying round and has gained in stature under Ralf Rangnick. The Austrians drew 1-1 with Switzerland last week and will need to step it up in this match. Austria has won only one of their last ten matches against France in all competitions, with the only victory coming by a 3-1 scoreline in a FIFA World Cup qualifier in 2008. They made their third consecutive participation in UEFA Euro tournaments; their only previous appearance was in 2008 when they qualified automatically as co-hosts.

France Preview:

France convincingly won their group in the UEFA Euro qualification campaign and has been in terrific form in recent months. Les Bleus were held to a dismal 0-0 draw by Canada during their previous encounter, and they have something to show this week. They have a strong historical record against Austria, having won 13 of the 25 meetings between the two teams, compared to Austria's nine victories.
