UEFA Champions League (UCL) 2023-24 will be back on Tuesday with Real Madrid facing Manchester City at the Santiago Bernabeu. On the other end of the Europe Arsenal will be hosting Bayern Munich at the Emirates. The two big games will be at the same time 12:30 AM IST. On the very next day, Paris Saint-Germain will be hosting FC Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund will be travelling to Wanda Metropolitano to face Atletico Madrid.

All 8 teams would love to travel to Wembley for the final of the current year UCL and win the most prestigious club trophy as well. But possibly two teams can qualify for the finals. However, all these teams facing each other have qualified for the finals once or many times in recent decades or so. Real Madrid have been the side that has the most number of UCL with 14 trophies in their cabinet.

Manchester City are the defending champions and they will be trying to regain the trophy once more this year. Barcelona qualified for the quarter-finals after a long time of 4 years. In the article, we will be looking into the 8 teams who have won the trophies and are yet to put their hands on the silverware.

Will UCL find a new Champion?

The Los Blancos have been the most successful club in the last decade of the UCL history. The club has won three consecutive Champions League from 2015 to 2018. After that they had a dry run and failed to qualify for the finals but in the 2021/22 season something miraculous they won the UCL against the odds beating PSG, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool. Karim Benzema was the star for the side who single-handedly took his side to the final. Their arch-rivals Barcelona is having a dry run of 9 years of not winning the league, they last won back in the 2014/15 season. Since then they have failed to qualify for the finals.

City after a long period of suffering finally got their hands on the silverware last season beating Inter Milan in the final. Bayern is having a dry run in the Bundesliga and is out of contention for the title race as well. Though they have won it twice in the decade back in 2012/13 and 2019/20.

There are four clubs that are yet to get the winning taste of the final. Atletico Madrid, PSG, Dortmund and Arsenal have all qualified for the finals but they have failed to keep their nerves in the ultimate game and never won it a single time. Though all of the sides have been brilliant and in the upcoming months the fans might see a new UCL champion as well.
