EURO 2024 is moving towards the final stages of the tournament after the completion of two quarter-final matches. Switzerland star Granit Xhaka has been the topic of discussion amongst the Swiss media ahead of the final 8-match vs England. It is believed that the former Arsenal star is set to start the game after stepping up his training regime.

As per reports the Swiss star has been training alone and getting ready for the massive game versus England. Gareth Southgate is set to use a 3-4-3 formation in a bid to stifle the attacking threat of the Swiss side.

In an unconventional move, it has come to light that Bakayo Saka is set to play as a left-wing back. This will give the English side more penetration on the wings overlap the opposition defenders and deliver crosses into the box. It will also suit the aerial threat of Harry Kane who is set to be the only striker for England on Saturday.

Granit Xhaka: a key presence in Switzerland

Veteran midfield star Granit Xhaka has been one of the biggest factors behind the stunning run Switzerland are having. The return for Granit Xhaka also will help add huge steel to the Swiss side as he has the experience of playing against most of the England players.

Former Swiss star Beni Huggel while speaking ahead of the match on Saturday heaped lavish praise on Xhaka. Huggel said, "He’s the most important player in terms of tactics and leadership. He’s leading the team with so much experience: he knows how to manage the other players and support them, bringing them into the right position.”

The former Swiss star also said, “He takes responsibility. He’s not shy, or hiding himself when the pressure comes. He’s really a leader.” Xhaka has been enjoying a second wind to his career after joining Bayer Leverkusen. The German side won the Bundesliga last season under Xabi Alonso and Granit Xhaka played a key role.

Jude Bellingham is set to start the game for England after UEFA handed the youngster a huge fine for his antics from the last game. The winner of this game will take on the winner of the Netherlands vs Turkey game in the other quarter-finals.
