Savinho signs six-year contract with Manchester City

The Brazilian has penned a deal that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2031, with the option of another year, the club have announced.

Savinho signed a new contract with Manchester City on Friday. The Brazilian has penned a deal that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2031, with the option of another year, the club have announced.

The agreement is for two-year extension to his existing contract, which was due to expire in 2029. The 21-year-old, who joined Pep Guardiola's side from French club Troyes last season, is still finding his feet in the English top flight. 

Savinho has scored four goals and recorded 13 assists from 54 games for Manchester City across all competitions. 

"I am incredibly proud to be able to sign this new contract with City," Savinho said in a club statement. 

"It's very special feeling to know that Pep and the club placed such faith in me. I feel I have so much improving to do- I am still young and very hungry to keep learning. but I know that working with Pep and his staff will help me to keep developing as a player."

Savinho has played 13 times for Brazil

Savinho started his career with age category teams of Atletico-MG and moved to Troyes in 2022. Meanwhile, in 2023, he was loaned out to Girona FC, where he helped the La Liga side achieve Champions League qualification. The winger played 41 matches for the White and Reds, recording 11 goals and 10 assists in the 2023-24 season. 

"Savinho is still very young, but he has already demonstrated that he possesses the qualities needed to become a truly outstanding player," Said City's director of football Hugo Viana. 

Savinho made his international debut against England back in March 2024 and the 21-year-old has played 13 times for the Brazilain national team.
