Wrexham A.F.C, a Welsh football team co-owned by star Ryan Reynolds, defeated Forest Green 6-0 at home on Saturday to secure promotion into the third division of English football. The squad has earned itself consecutive promotion because of the attention it received after its Hollywood owners made an investment. The Premier League is two tiers below the EFL League One, which is the league that the team would be competing in next year.

With two matches remaining, Wrexham needed to defeat Forest Green in addition to Barrow and MK Dons dropping points to guarantee immediate promotion to League One. At halftime, Wrexham led 4-0, therefore there was never any doubt about their victory.

MK Dons lost 4-1 at home to Mansfield after blowing an early lead, and Barrow fell short against Gillingham 3-0. Massive celebrations ensued at Wrexham as supporters stormed onto the pitch following the final whistle, defying the club's pre-match advice to remain in the stands.

Four points behind league leaders Stockport, who also secured promotion on Saturday, is Wrexham's position in EFL League Two. Fourth-placed MK Dons are no longer able to catch up to Wrexham, as the top three clubs receive automatic promotion to League One automatically.

The journey of Ryan Reynolds and Wrexham A.F.C

After investing approximately $2.5 million in 2021, Reynolds and partner Rob McElhenney purchased the unknown club.Wrexham won the National League last year, and for the first time in fifteen years, they were able to return back to the English Football League, which is three divisions below the English Premier League. The journey of the team has been documented in the television programme "Welcome to Wrexham."

However, Wrexham's story is not quite over. Reynolds has never hidden their ambition to eventually get the team into the Premier League, and now that they have completed two promotions, they are astonishingly close to reaching their goal. They would also be hoping to go on a cup run next year to make the side more known around the world.
