Following their New Year's Eve lunch together in Ibiza, the Portuguese defender has been connected to radio DJ and television broadcaster Maya Jama. They had met at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Manchester before. According to sources, the couple's connection has been "the worst-kept secret" for at least a month. The Sun claims that this is the case.

On Instagram, however, the Portuguese defender appeared to have chosen a brilliantly subtle method to essentially make his and Jama's current situation public. The 27-year-old shared an 11-photo Instagram post that included a range of holiday-related photos of pals and items. The City center-half posted a photo from his New Year's celebrations that seems to show him cuddling up to his new partner while they watch the Mediterranean sunset, although neither Dias nor Jama have commented publicly on their rumored romance.

At Manchester's Co-op Live arena, Maya, 30, walked the red carpet in a black gown quite similar to the one Liz made famous in 1994. The Portuguese football player began following Maya on social media in November, and she quickly followed him back. The 25-year-old Portuguese music diva April Ivy was dated by Ruben, a former Benfica player, who joined City in 2020 and has since won four Premier League titles and the Champions League.

Ruben Dias is out of action due to injury

He has 64 caps for his country, making him one of the top defenders in the world. In his debut season in the English top division, 2020–21, he was selected the Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers’ Association, demonstrating the influence he had at the Etihad. With around half of the season left, he is currently out of action as his Man City teammates are suffering through their worst run ever under Pep Guardiola and seem to be abandoning the title race.
