Premier League club, Arsenal's full-back Riccardo Calafiori sustained an injury during Italy's Nations League defeat to Germany, prompting an update from coach Luciano Spalletti.
Calafiori started in Italy's 2-1 loss to Germany in the first leg of their Nations League quarterfinal. Unfortunately, he appeared to have picked up an injury during the match when he slipped while defending against a German attack and uncomfortably landed on his knee.

Following some treatment on the field, Calafiori was able to continue and was able to finish off the important fixture. However, Italy's head coach, Spalletti has since mentioned that the Arsenal centre-back experienced a peculiar sensation in his knee, raising some concerns in the camp at Emirates.
Italian gaffer Spalletti has yet to understand the nature and severity of Calafiori's injury. The Gunners are already in the midst of an injury-plagued season. The Gunners are already missing the services of Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu. Calafiori's potential injury only adds to the woes of the Gunners and the Italian national team.
“We still don’t know if he’s injured. Ricky feels something strange in his knee but we still don’t know." Italian coach said.
Calafiori is scheduled for additional medical assessments in the coming days to assess the extent of the injury. The severity of the injury is currently unknown, and both his club and national side will be praying for positive test results heading into important fixtures in the coming months.
Arsenal is set to return to action on April 1st when they face Fulham. However, all sights are set on their clash against the defending champions, Real Madrid, in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League, a silverware that has remained eluded from the club's trophy cabinet. Arsenal currently sits in second place in the Premier League standings, 12 points behind leaders Liverpool.
