Aurelien Tchouameni for Real Madrid

Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni sustained an ankle sprain and has been sidelined for approximately one month, according to the club's announcement. The injury occurred during Tuesday's Champions League match against AC Milan, which resulted in a 3-1 defeat for Los Blancos.

The incident took place in the first half when Tchouameni collided with Alvaro Morata. Initially, it seemed that the injury was not severe, and both players continued to play.

Tchouameni was substituted at halftime, with Brahim Diaz taking his position on the field. Although the French midfielder faced some challenges during the match, he departed the pitch with an apparent minor injury. Following a thorough assessment, it was determined that he sustained an injury. Real Madrid later shared an update on their website to inform fans of the situation.

“Following tests carried out today on our player Aurélien Tchouameni by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a sprained left ankle. Pending evolution.” the club statement.

Although Real Madrid didn't mention a specific timeline for the player's return, recent reports from Madrid Universal suggest that the injury may keep him out of action for approximately a month.

Real Madrid's injury worries

This situation presents a challenging situation for the La Liga giants, especially considering that Tchouameni has faced difficulties in finding his form this season.

The French midfielder has made 15 appearances across competitions under Carlo Ancelotti, starting in all but one match. Despite this effort, his recent performances have drawn some criticism.

Real Madrid has been unlucky with injuries recently. Last season, the team dealt with the absence of key players like Thibaut Courtois and David Alaba, who were sidelined for an extended period due to ACL injuries. The latest setback with Dani Carvajal facing a similar injury added to the miseries of the side.
