Real Madrid's semi-final hero Joselu leaves the club and is set to join Qatari side Al Gharafa. Despite head coach Carlo Ancelotti's wish to keep him, he did not want to stay in the club and wanted to explore a new chapter. The striker had a fairytale ending as he did not have the best of his career as the forward is a passionate Madrid fan.

He was on loan from Espanyol but he scored 17 goals in all competitions. He started his senior career with the Celta B and then the first team, he was part of the Madrid B team and was then promoted to the first team where he got only two games for the club, and was eventually sent to TSG Hoffenheim. Coming back to the Spanish Giants was a redemption story for the footballer he has had a successful spell in the club.

The 34-year-old striker was not the first choice for the Los Blancos however whenever he has come on he was the difference maker for the side. Despite his amazing season with the club he was selected in the Spain squad for the UEFA Euro 2024 but he is yet to make an appearance for the La Roja. Amidst all these, the club offered him a fresh contract but the deal was lower than other competitors.

Did Joselu leave Madrid for Mbappe?

The reigning La Liga champions have acquired the services of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick for the upcoming season. Despite the Italian manager's wants, Joselu could not have had much game time with the two footballers in excellent form in the last season. The price tag of the Spanish footballer is still unknown and the medical is set to be done in a few weeks.

Mbappe will be presented once the Euro gets over, as he is still contracted with Paris Saint-Germain till June 30th. With a blistering attacking lineup, Madrid is looking very difficult to beat in the upcoming season. Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, and now the French superstar have been added to increase the firepower. The club will be hoping for yet another UCL win in the upcoming season.
