Talented Spanish players not part of Madrid or Barcelona often find themselves in the spotlight when local media inquiries arise about their potential interest in joining these football giants.

Recently, Manchester City’s Ballon d’Or winner, Rodri, shared his perspective during an appearance on a popular sports talk radio program in Spain. He expressed openness to a future opportunity, stating that he would consider Real Madrid if the esteemed club expressed interest in signing him.

Rodri, is under contract with Manchester City until June 2027. Currently, he is in recovery after undergoing surgery to repair a ruptured ACL and a damaged meniscus sustained during an injury to his right knee in September.

Just a month after his injury, Rodri made history by becoming the first Spanish man in over sixty years to lift the Ballon d’Or award.

Real Madrid's decision to boycott the gala in response to Rodri’s victory over forward Vinícius Júnior speaks volumes, but Rodri isn't bothered by their snub—he chooses to focus on his achievements instead. Rodri has declared his contentment with his life in England and his role at Manchester City.

“It’s a decision that a person or a club have their reasons to take, and I don’t want to give it more importance,” he told .

Real Madrid is no longer interested in signing Rodri

Last month, Rodri became a controversial figure among Real Madrid fans after winning the Ballon d’Or, edging out Vinicius Junior.

Although he has expressed a desire to join Real Madrid, it seems the club may not be prioritizing his acquisition at this time.

According to MARCA, signing the Manchester City midfielder doesn't align with Real Madrid's current plans.

Rodri is often considered one of the top midfielders in the world, and his skills could benefit any team. Real Madrid, in particular, has been searching for a reliable holding midfielder since Toni Kroos's departure.

Recently, Real Madrid was linked with a move for the Spanish international, suggesting there was interest in his abilities. However, it now seems that their focus has shifted, and they are currently exploring other options rather than pursuing Rodri.
