Real Madrid is actively seeking a new centre-back this summer and has set its sights on Everton's promising talent, Jarrad Branthwaite. Recently, both Liverpool and Manchester United have shown interest in the England international; however, the Red Devils seem to be encountering some roadblocks in their pursuit of the 22-year-old for a transfer to Old Trafford.

With Everton experiencing a much-needed revival under new manager David Moyes, there's a realistic opportunity for the club to encourage Branthwaite to stay for at least another season as they embrace this new chapter.

Real Madrid eyes to sign Everton's defender

According to Transfermarkt, Branthwaite’s contract extends until 2027, which means that unless he indicates a desire to leave or there are concerns regarding the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules, Everton is in a strong position to retain him and continue building upon their progress.

Real Madrid is poised to make a strong move this summer, as recently reported by TeamTalk. With Carlo Ancelotti being the one who handed Jarrad Branthwaite his senior debut during his time at Everton, this connection could benefit Real Madrid in their pursuit of the player.

Should Real succeed in acquiring Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, Branthwaite will find himself among at least two England teammates Jude Bellingham being the other, making his transition to the Santiago Bernabeu seamless.

The English defender has made 64 appearances for the club across competitions. He has also netted 4 goals for Everton. Jarrad got called for the national team in 2024 and the side won on his debut.

In addition to the Everton star, Real Madrid have also made their intentions known about signing Arsenal stopper William Saliba in the next summer transfer window.
