Manchester City started their busy run of form in April with a great convincing win against fourth-placed Aston Villa. They were able to beat the away side 4-1 at the Etihad stadium through an emphatic hat-trick from Phil Foden. The hosts dictated the game right from the off and once they got the second goal, they were unstoppable.

Some of the players on the winning side had an amazing performance. However, there were some players who would look to forget this game sooner rather than later. Let’s take a look at the ratings of the players in the  English Premier League game between Manchester City and Aston Villa.

Ratings for the game: -

Manchester City: -

Stefan Ortega - 6

The goalkeeper should have done more to stop the opening goal for Aston Villa. Otherwise, overall he was good and was not tested much by the opposition.

Rico Lewis - 7

The youngster was defensively solid and often found himself in attacking situations to help his side score.

Manuel Akanji - 8

One of the best defenders for Manchester City today as he was solid at the back and often tried to get the ball forward.

Ruben Dias - 7

Yet another great game for the tall centre-back as he was able to dictate the defence and make crucial interceptions to stop the opposition attackers.

Josko Gvardiol - 6.5

The young defender was available for his side whenever required but his offence abilities are still something that can get better.

Matheus Nunes - 7

The Portuguese midfielder was able to generate a few chances and started targeting the keeper’s goal after coming on.

Oscar Bobb - 6

The youngster replaced the hat-trick hero and was bright at the start after coming on. However, he could not grab a goal or assist in the last 15 minutes that he played.

Sergio Gomez - 5

The full-back was trying his level-best to transition the ball from defence and attack and was great in the short time he spent in this game against Aston Villa.

The second string Aston Villa keeper would feel unlucky to have faced Manchester City today as he conceded four goals. Overall, he had a decent game but would be disappointed to have let in the four goals.

The youngster was mostly ineffective in the game and was later substituted to bring on some experience in the midfield around the 64th minute of the match.

Alex Moreno - 4

The full-back was defending for the 25 minutes he got in this game and was decent since the game was already settled by then.
