Nemanja Vidic compares star Manchester United player with Luka Modrić

Manchester United faced off against Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday. The Red Devils were able to hold on to the league leaders Liverpool for a 2-2 draw. Jurgen Klopp's side could have sealed the match in the first half of the game but they failed to score except one. Luis Diaz broke the deadlock for the side. Andre Onana made some good saves in the first half and kept the score 1-0. United failed to register a shot on target in the first 45 minutes of the game. 

Bruno Fernandes's shot from inside his half was the first shot that caught the keeper off the line and went in the back of the net. The home side got away from the chances of the Reds, however, they took the chance of the misses after young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo scored a world-class goal and gave United the lead.

The 18-year-old picked the ball up on the half-turn he shot the ball. But the goal did not stand after a controversial penalty was awarded to the Reds in the last ten minutes of the game as Mohammad Salah put past Onana. Mainoo has been brilliant since his debut for the Red Devils.

Vidic compares Mainoo with Madrid legend

The young footballer completed 14 of 18 passes and two out of three dribbles and won three of five tackles and eight of 11 duels during his club's most recent clash. He will be an asset for the club in the coming days and however, for his performance, he was also called up in the England national team during the international break. With the Euros a few months away he will surely be in consideration and made into the squad. 

Former Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic has dropped a comment about the star midfielder. Vidic has compared Mainoo with Real Madrid legend Luka Modrić, the United legend compared his playing style with the Croatian captain. He further said, "You can see he did the first touch, straight away moved to the side and a great strike. It's difficult to defend that."
