Lionel Messi, the Argentine superstar, is reportedly all set to visit India. According to a recent report in The Times of India, Messi will visit the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai for an event on December 14.

On August 1, while speaking to the Times of India, a reliable source from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) said: "Yes, Messi is set to visit the Wankhede Stadium for an event on December 14. The organisers of the event (Wizcraft) have sought permission for the event, which will be ticketed. Their request was discussed by the Mumbai Cricket Association's Apex Council in a meeting recently and the permission was granted. A couple of superstar cricketers may also attend the event.”

Several reports have stated that the Argentine footballer will visit three cities – Kolkata, Delhi, and Mumbai – from December 13 to 15. He will be attending a series of events celebrating his illustrious career and commitment to the sport.

Messi will be felicitated at the iconic Eden Gardens stadium.

In Kolkata, it has been reported that Messi will be felicitated at the iconic Eden Gardens stadium. The West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, is also expected to be present. Additionally, Messi will conduct a football workshop for children while launching a football clinic in Kolkata. A seven-a-side tournament named the "GOAT CUP" will reportedly be organised in his honour at Eden Gardens.

Earlier, on June 6, Kerala Sports Minister V. Abdurahiman confirmed that Messi and his Argentina side will visit Kerala for a friendly match in October or November at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.

Meanwhile, Messi is currently playing for his club, Inter Miami, in Major League Soccer (MLS). He was recently seen in action at the FIFA Club World Cup. However, it was Messi’s former club and current UEFA Champions League champions, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), who knocked Inter Miami out. PSG thrashed them 4-0 in the Round of 16 clash.
