Lionel Messi is arguably the greatest ever footballer of all time. The Argentine playmaker has won every possible trophy in his prolonged career. He left Europe a year ago and has been enjoying his time playing in the Major League Soccer (MLS) for the club named Inter Miami. The No.10 has been one of the most decorated footballers of all time, with the trophies he has won and the milestones he has achieved.  

On Friday, the former FC Barcelona footballer will be featuring in the Copa America 2024 game against Canada, with La Albiceleste taking on Alphonso Davies's side in the tournament's opening game. LM 10 is on the verge of breaking two records in the upcoming tournament. He will be making his 35th appearance in the tournament against Canada making him the footballer with the most appearances in the history of Copa America. 

This will be his 7th appearance in the quadrennial tournament for the reigning Copa champions. No footballer in the past has made seven appearances in the game. Another record he is on the verge of breaking is the most goals in the tournament. Messi currently stands with 13 goals and he needs just 4 goals to match the record of Norberto Mendez and Zizinho.

This might be the final Copa tournament for the Argentina captain as he will soon turn 37 in a few days and by the time the next tournament appears he will turn 40 age might be a factor in playing against the finest footballers of America will be a bit of difficult for him. 

The Argentine forward has been the leading goal scorer for the country and the whole of South America. He previously dropped a comment about his possible future at MLS and might also be ending his career in the USA itself.  Previously he became the footballer with the most international goals in history as a non-European. A brace against a recent friendly against Guatemala increased his goal tally to 108 and got tied up with Ali Daei.
