FC Barcelona declared earlier this month that they had formally enrolled La Masia stars Pau Cubarsi and Lamine Yamal as first-team La Liga players. After agreeing to new agreements with the club, the two 17-year-old extraordinary prospects will now formally join the senior squad after enjoying their breakout seasons in 2023–2024.

Both Lamine Yamal and Cubarsi are going to get fresh uniform numbers at FC Barcelona as a result of their first-team registration, and it looks that the former is currently deciding which number he will wear. Lamine Yamal has made the decision to play for FC Barcelona in the No. 19 jersey next season. The 17-year-old had been linked to the No. 10 shirt, which was up for grabs the previous season, according to a number of rumors.

It was also implied that the young talent might think about grabbing the No. 17 jersey that was up for grabs after Marcos Alonso left. However, Yamal appears to have made a complete 180-degree turn and chosen to wear the No. 19 shirt, the same number he sported during his time while competing in UEFA Euro 2024, instead of the previous one.

After Franck Kessie left the team last season, the No. 19 shirt was left empty. Players like Sergio Aguero and Ferran Torres also donned the shirt before the Ivorian. As a matter of fact, the No. 19 shirt was worn by club star Lionel Messi from 2005 to 2008, while Patrick Kluivert, another legendary player from Barcelona, wore it for a year in 1998/99.

Lamine Yamal’s iconic strike wins Goal of the tournament at UEFA Euro 2024

The incredible goal that Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal scored for Spain versus France was recently awarded the UEFA Euro 2024 Goal of the Tournament. In the competition's semifinals, Yamal made history by being the youngest player to record a goal at a European Championship and making a stunning start to his international career.

His incredible left-footed goal has now been declared the best goal in Euro 2024, defeating efforts by Arda Guler, Xherdan Shaqiri, Jude Bellingham, and Nicolae Stanciu.
