Joshua Zirkzee makes Manchester United debut against Fulham

Erik ten Hag was still being patient with Joshua Zirkzee, who was almost ready to make his Man United debut. Joshua Zirkzee left Bologna to line up for Erik ten Hag's Red Devils this summer, and Manchester United paid a hefty price to bring him to Old Trafford.

The Dutch forward wasn't been seen in action yet because he was granted extra time off for his involvement in the European Championship. The forward replaced Mason Mount in the second half and would be hoping for an amazing debut 

As the 2024–25 Premier League season started today, it hasn't been the most thrilling first half of sport. Manchester United has dominated possession and passing statistics thus far, controlling most of the game, but they haven't been able to take advantage of the few opportunities they have been given.

When the game returned for the second half at Old Trafford, Fulham were just hoping for a better showing since in the few moments of play when they have had the ball, they have not looked fluid. Adama Traore and Emile Smith Rowe have made some great runs but have not been able to find the net. 

Erik ten Hag and Manchester United look to do their best

Erik ten Hag had some selection headaches when Manchester United took on Fulham at Old Trafford tonight to start the 2024–25 Premier League season. He went with Alejandro Garnacho on the bench, despite a glorious performance against Manchester City in the FA Community Shield last Saturday. Marcus Rashford is starting ahead of him in spite of a poor showing last week against the neighbours. 

The Red Devils aim to improve on their eighth-place finish in the Premier League last season, but their Dutch boss is missing a few important players as he looks to build on the confidence-boosting FA Cup victory earlier this year. This is notwithstanding a busy summer transfer window where they added two Bayern Munich players earlier this week.
