Indian National Football team Skipper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, in a recent interview with TRS talks, gave his opinion on which of the two players, Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi, had the best primes in their career. The Indian Skipper explained that he has been an avid fan of Cristiano Ronaldo since the time the Portuguese striker dominated La Liga and the Champions League with his exceptional goal-scoring skills. "He was scoring all sorts of goals, left foot, right foot, back heel, headers, everything," Gurpreet stated.

According to the Skipper, mastering the art of goal-scoring is a challenging task for any striker, especially in the competitive environment of Europe's top leagues. Despite facing tough competition, Ronaldo consistently demonstrated his ability to score goals effortlessly. The skipper was particularly impressed by Ronaldo's confidence in his goal-scoring capabilities, as he seemed to almost guarantee a goal from specific positions or using a particular foot, and then delivered on those promises.

"It was almost like, he said I will score from inside the box, outside the box, use my right foot or my left foot, hit a volley or header, he did this with unbelievable accuracy," Gurpreet added.

Messi is an 'Alien'

Gurpreet described Messi as an 'untouchable', one who is once in a generation and one who cannot be emulated, a genius in every right. Gurpreet called Messi a footballing genius and asserted the brand of football Messi brings to the table is out of anyone's league.

"Messi is walking, Messi is scanning; it feels Argentina is playing with 10 men, but who is scoring the goals? -Messi" - Gurpreet said. Gurpreet emphasized that Messi's art cannot be copied, his precision in positioning himself on the field, finding passes and scoring 'wow' goals. "Messi has come to make fun , he makes football look so easy , he is in a league of his own - An Alien" - Gurpreet added .

The reason for Choosing Ronaldo

Gurpreet felt more connected to Cristiano Ronaldo and stated that Ronaldo's story is a close depiction of most other footballers, that is a culmination of determination, hard work, grit and patience.

He also mentioned that people don't know about the struggles of Messi because the Argentine doesn't like to highlight his struggles and adversities he faced in public.

"But for Ronaldo, everyone knows, He used to do 1000 push-ups, 300 sit-ups, practice after training sessions for years" - he explained.
