'Incredible qualities and..' - Lionel Messi praises Lamine Yamal for his performance

Former Barcelona icon Lionel Messi continues to heap praise on Lamine Yamal. In the current footballing era, Lamine Yamal is a shining star for FC Barcelona. He is a product of La Masia and is going to be the future star of the club. Despite his young age, Lamine Yamal looks very confident in big games. At the age of 17, Lamine Yamal won Euro 2024 with Spain and was named Player of the tournament. 

During an interview with Simplemente Futbol, Lionel Messi spoke about how he is impressed with the footballing skills Yamal is showing on the pitch.  “It’s impressive what Lamine Yamal shows… he’s already been a Euro champion with Spain”. “He’s still only 17, he’s in a growth process, and he’ll continue to grow as a player and add things to his game, just like I did. He has incredible qualities and he’s already one of the best players in the world”, he said.

Messi stated that at the age of 17, Yamal has a big future and would determine his destiny by his work and his capacity to maintain his playing style. The young winger is unquestionably focused on his growth and is putting the comparisons aside to pursue his football career.  Yamal finished in eighth position in the previous year's Ballon d'Or rankings.

Lamine Yamal set to follow footsteps of Lionel Messi

 As the La Liga season is going to end soon, Lamine Yamal has already made his name. In 28 games, he scored 6 goals and gave 11 assists. While in the UEFA Champions League, he has scored 4 goals and 3 assists in 11 games. Barcelona are in the semi-finals after six years and have a good chance of winning the treble. If the team manages to win the treble again, Lamine Yamal will be following footsteps of his idol Lionel Messi. Lionel Messi has won the treble twice with FC Barcelona in 2009 and 2015.
