India lost against Qatar on Tuesday at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium, Doha. After leading the game till the 70th minute Igor Stimac's side failed to keep the lead till the end of 90 minutes. The equalising goal for the home side scored by Youssef Aymen was controversial as the ball was clearly out of the line when it was pushed back scorer in the 73rd minute of the game. The decision went against India as there was no VAR in the game.

The team then conceded within 10 minutes of conceding the first as Al-Rawi scored the winner as his shot in the bottom corner in the 85th minute of the game was not been able to be saved by Gurpreet Singh Sandu. After the loss, India were knocked out of the AFC World Cup Qualifiers 2026. The Croatian manager was furious after the game and felt sad for his players as their dream was killed due to an error in judgement.

The 56-year-old manager has been under fire after the loss against the top-ranked Asian side. But he was proud of the player's performance in the game. He believes that the mistakes in the modern-day football should not be happening. There was no VAR in the game so the on-field decision standed.

Will Stimac be with India?

Stimac might be sacked by All Indian Football Federation (AIFF) as he has not been able to manage the national team properly and his tactics also has been a question for the fans and the management. He even said before the game that if he fails to lead the team to the knockouts he will resign. Now the management will decide the future of the coach in the upcoming days.

The head coach after the game said, "Qatar were lucky tonight, especially because they came back from 0-1 with an irregular goal. I can confirm that now because I have seen the replay. The whole ball was out of play and the goal was given. It shouldn't be happening in today's football because that goal changed everything in this game."
