Arne Slot has said that neither he nor the player are getting distracted by Mohamed Salah's recent comments about his contract position. Following Sunday's triumph over Southampton, in which he scored twice to save the Reds from going behind, Salah revealed that the team has not yet extended an offer to sign him to a new deal. At the end of the current season, the Egyptian's current contract is set to expire, giving him the chance to sign a pre-contract deal with a foreign club in January.

According to manager Arne Slot, Mohamed Salah, a forward for Liverpool, is not affected by contract negotiations or future rumors. After the season, Salah's current contract ends. He told reporters that he is "probably more out than in" and that he is "disappointed" that he was not given a new contract.

"The only thing I can say is, if I look at my line-ups, Mo is more in than out," said Arne Slot. "I don't think he's distracted at all. I haven't seen that after the United game [in September] where he had some comments, I haven't seen it after a post you told me about, he just kept on scoring."

Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold contracts also expires after the end of the season

After scoring twice in Sunday's victory against Southampton, the 32-year-old is now Liverpool's highest scorer of the season with 12 goals across all competitions, putting the Reds eight points ahead of their rivals in the Premier League. Before hosting Premier League winners Manchester City on Sunday, the Merseyside team takes on Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Team captain Virgil van Dijk and defender Trent Alexander-Arnold have contracts that expire at the end of the current campaign, in addition to Salah. The Salah contract controversy is an early test for Slot's leadership at Liverpool. Given how well the Dutchman has started his reign, it will be crucial to handle this circumstance without letting it interfere with the team's advancement.
