Famous Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville has voiced his concerns regarding the current batch of footballers at Manchester United and called on the club's management to make some changes heading into next season. Gary has listed five new players Manchester United should onboard in the next transfer window.
The Red Devils' new manager, Ruben Amorim, had been cautious in his approach to signing new high-profile players at Old Trafford. Former manager Erik Ten Hag tried to rebuild Manchester United's squad in the last summer transfer window, and Ruben Amorim is expected to tread a similar path this season.
Gary Neville urges Manchester United management to save the club
In January, Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven joined the team. However, several concerns regarding strategic positions across the field remain unresolved. Following the goalless draw against Manchester City on Sunday, Neville highlighted specific weaknesses within Amorim's team.
"From a United perspective, I get why he's gone back into a low block. But that's what we've seen from Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Erik Ten Hag." Gary said.
"They've all come in with the intention of playing high-press, high-energy football, but all end up going back to a low block in big games. I do understand why Ruben Amorim's done that today, with the players he's got, because he hasn't got the players to adapt." Gary added.
"They need five players. They need to serve him with five players who are good enough in this system to be able to play his system the way he wants." Gary explained.
Neville's comments come at a time when United acquired Dogru and Lecce for a mammoth £30 million. The management is also speculated to sign a high-profile striker like Victor Osimhen since both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have been far from impressive. Manchester United is fighting relegation woes as they sit at 13th position in the Premier League standings heading towards the end of the season.
