FIFA and AFC have jointly issued a warning to AIFF of a ban due to a long-delayed constitution ratification. FIFA and AFC have asked AIFF to gain the Supreme Court's definitive approval of the revised constitution. A failure to ratify the constitution would lead to AIFF getting banned from FIFA and AFC's membership rights.

FIFA and AFC produced a jointly signed letter to AIFF, which had the approval from Vahid Kardany, Deputy General Secretary – Member Associations, AFC, and Elkhan Mammadov, Chief Member Associations, FIFA. In the letter, FIFA and AFC warned AIFF of the sanctions in case of non-adherence to the obligation.

The letter asked the need for AIFF to seriously look into the matter and safeguard its rights as a member of FIFA and AFC. In case of failing to do so, the letter warned that AIFF could lose its membership rights, leading to a decline in Football's progression in the country.

"Failure to adhere to this obligation may result in sanctions outlined in the FIFA and AFC Statutes, including the possibility of suspension. “Furthermore, a member association may face consequences for third-party influence, even if it is not directly at fault…. A suspension of the AIFF would result in the loss of all of its rights as a FIFA and AFC member, as defined in the FIFA and AFC Statutes," the letter stated.

"AIFF must regard this communication as binding and requiring immediate compliance in order to safeguard its rights as a member of FIFA and AFC. Failure to meet this schedule will leave us with no alternative but to refer the matter to the relevant FIFA decision-making body for consideration and decision," the letter read.
