The arrival of Dani Olmo has created massive new possibilities for FC Barcelona ahead of the new season. The Spanish star can play in the mid-field as well as in the wings and as a striker. This will be music to the ears of FC Barcelona fans as they get ready for a massive season ahead.

Dani Olmo was signed from RB Leipzig for 60 million dollars. It is a huge coup for the Catalan side who have been looking for new signings to challenge Real Madrid. The Los Blancos have already signed Kylian Mbappe and Endrick to make their squad stronger.

On Saturday the Spanish star took part in his first training session. The 26-year-old could be employed in a variety of roles ahead of the new season. The acquisition gives the Catalans a great chance to work on their squad and move Dani Olmo around in different positions for more stability.

Possible new formations in store for FC Barcelona?

Dani Olmo could play at the top of the midfield triangle in case the Catalans want a ball-playing mid-fielder. Frenkie De Jong, Ilkay Gundogan, and Gavi could be the rolling starters along with Pedri and Dani Olmo. This will give the Catalans a greater solidity to support Robert Lewandowski as the sole striker.

One of the biggest attributes that Danin Olmo brings to the team is his quick feet and quick passing. His ability to whip in the short passes as well as make clever runs into the spaces behind the defenders will come in handy.

FC Barcelona could also play Dani Olmo at the top of the formation as a forward along with Robert Lewandowski. With Lamine Yamal and Raphina occupying the wings, Dani Olmo could also play as a winger or as a second striker depending on the game situation.

The final option that the Catalans could use is slotting Dani Olmo as a False Nine striker. This would mean that Robert Lewandowski doesn’t have to start every game and the front three could be that of Dani Olmo along with Lamine Yamal as well as Raphinia or Ferran Torress.
