"Big win for Old Lady!" Fans react as Juventus beat Lazio 2-0 in 1st leg of Coppa Italia semi-final

Juventus and Lazio faced off each other in the 1st leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final. The former defeated 2-0 with Dusan Vlahovic and Federico Chiesa scoring for Juve. Chiesa opened the scoring for the home side five minutes after the interval, capitalising on Andrea Cambiaso's superb vertical ball to shoot from the edge of the box low inside the right post. Vlahovic extended the lead in the 64th minute, scoring into the bottom far corner.  

Juve's win on Tuesday was only their second in ten games after losing to Lazio in Serie A the previous weekend, and they were booed off at halftime by angry fans. They will meet Lazio in the second leg in Rome on April 23. Massimiliano Allegri's team has slipped from Serie A championship contenders and they are fighting to qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the next season. The game was end to end though the visitors could not have the breakthrough as their final third passing and shooting was brilliantly blocked by the home defenders.

Chiesa and Vlahovic: Deadly Duo

During the halftime, no changes were made, but when Juventus returned for the second half, and they looked completely different. Vlahovic continued his incredible form, having scored ten goals in all competitions since the beginning of January, sealed the game for his side in the 64th minute of the game.

After his superb performance the Serbian striker said that the team was facing a difficult time and they felt that this is the best chance to prove themselves and give the best game. He congratulated his team after the win and thanked the fans who supported them in their tough times as well.
