The English Premier League is in the business end with most of the teams having played their second last game before the league ends on 19th of May. With two teams Manchester City and Arsenal are still in the race for the league and will go on to the final day inorder to win the league. On Wednesday Brighton & Hove Albion hosted Chelsea FC at home and on the other side of England Manchester United played against Newcastle United.
The Seagulls have had a poor season in the PL as they sit 10th in the table far away from any kind of European qualification. However the Blues have picked up some pace towards the end of the season and are 7th in the table and have the chance of playing in the UEFA Europa League or Conference League as well. Mauricio Pochettino’s side started the game in an amazing manner creating the chances for the side.
Roberto de Zerbi’s side was looking threatening in the counter attacks creating problems for the Blues. Cole Palmer yet again stepped up for the side after an end to end game of 33 minutes, the winger scored his 22nd goal of the league, giving the visitors the lead.
Manchester United after a horrifying season for the club, hosted an inform side at Old Trafford. But the Red Devils started the game well against the Magpies, as they looked good in the attack creating chances and keeping Martin Dubravka busy for the most of the first half, with Kobbie Mainoo opening the deadlock for the side after a delightful pass from Amad Diallo.
United and Chelsea edge through on the night
The second half began at the American Express Stadium, in an exciting way as both defences were wide open during the attacks of the side, with Pascal Gross came very near equalising for the side. On the other end the Seagulls were caught during the counter attack but Chelsea could not capitalise.
Later the Blues scored the second goal of Christopher Nkunku who made it 2-0 after meeting the low cross of Malo Gusto. Reece James was shown a red card for his reckless challenge on Joao Pedro and a 10 men side looked vulnerable with the home side pulling one back through Danny Welbeck.
At Old Trafford the second half was amazing to watch as Newcastle equalised in the early stages of the game with Anthony Gordon as he met the beautiful ball of Jacob Murphy, soon the home side took the lead back Amad Diallo making it 2-1 after a hard strike from inside the box. The Red Devils kept on piling the pressure and scored the third in the 84th minute of the game. Newcastle pulled one back at the stoppage time in the 92nd minute making it 3-2.

Amrabat doesn't just improve our ball retention in midfield, he's actually making Mainoo play better with more freedom 🔥
