The loss against the arch rivals have made Bayer 04 Leverkusen go 13 points clear over the defending champions and they are just 4 points clear to VFB Stuttgart who have a game in hand.
Bayern never looked to be in the game from the start as they failed to have the midfield control, and lost the ball in the middle of the park in the early stages that led Dortmund to make use of the counter attack and open the scoring. Karim Adeyemi who did not make any mistake to put it past the Bayern keeper Sven Ulriech in the 10 minutes of the game.

Tuchel made three changes in the hour mark of the game bringing in Kingsley Coman, Serge Gnabry and Mathys Tel to add more pressure to the game but Mats Hummels the former Bayern man was exceptional as he made sure no ball and shot went past him.
In the last 10 minutes of the game another counter attack from Dortmund to seal the game as substitute Sebastian Haller assisted the second goal for Julian Ryerson who slammed an effort into the bottom corner and made the game 2-0. Perhaps the question isn't why the performance, but rather why a friendly game mentality in such a crucial match? The battlefield and the playing field differ, but the attitude shouldn't.
