Player Ratings; Manchester City vs Manchester United (Source- Twitter)
Manchester City faced off their arch rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final on Saturday, at Wembley. The Sky Blues came in the game high on confidence after winning the English Premier League. On the other hand United had nothing to lose after finishing 8th in the league table. They soaked in the pressure and striked it was an easy ball which was tracked by Alejandro Garnacho and a miss communication by Josko Gvardiola with goalkeeper Stefan Ortega led to a miscued head went over the keeper and Garnacho opening the scoring in the 30th minute of the game.
They doubled their lead after Marcus Rashford delivered an amazing cross field ball to the Argentine winger who passed the ball to Bruno Fernandes as his miscued shot ended up for Kobbie Mainoo who made it 2-0 in the 39th minute. The second half begun in City's way as they kept the pressure on United's defence, but a shot of Erling Haaland striked the bar. Jeremy Doku pulled one back for the side however he could not much help as the Red Devils won it in the end with 2-1.

Stefan Ortega-
The German goalkeeper was at fault for the first goal as miscommunication with his defender Gvardiol. He could not have done much about the second one he conceded.
Kyle Walker-
The club captain was good in the backline as he had some amazing battles with Rashford down the wings. Not much effective in the attacking hal, however striked one shot which was saved by Onana.
John Stones- Was sluggish at the back as he could not match with the pace of Rashford, Garnacho, played well after being shifted to the midfield.
Nathan Ake-
The Dutch defender struggled somewhat with the pace of Garnacho in the wings and left space for the winger to run inside the box and was thus changed.
Josko Gvardiol-
The Croatian defender was directly at fault as a miscommunication between him and Ortega led to the first goal however was decent against Garnacho.
Rodri-5.5
The Spaniard was decent in the game as he failed to have much control in the midfield and neither create chance or try a shot from outside the box.
Mateo Kovacic-5
The Croatian was decent in the middle of the park could not track back during the counter attack of the Red Devils and he also failed to create much control in the midfield.
Bernardo Silva-4.5
The Portuguese creative midfielder was very poor in the game as he could not create much trouble for the Red Devils defenders
Kevin De Bruyne-4
The Belgian was poor in the game as he failed to create any chance in the game and was off colour till the time he was there in the pitch.
Phil Foden-4.5
Foden was merely seen on the ball as the winger was not at his best of the games, failed to create any significant chances for the side neither could take a shot. He gave just one pass to Alvarez which the latter missed.
Erling Haaland-3
The Norwegian was off in the game as he got a single chance and he hit striked the bar in the 55th minute of the game.

The Belgian was the game changer for the side since coming on, created problems with his pace and dancing feets to the United defenders, had a the better of Wan-Bissaka sometimes. He pulled one back for the side.

Alvarez came in as a substitute and had the best chance of the second half, but the Argentine missed as he putting it wide of the goal.

The goalkeeper was good in the game however will be furious with the goal he conceded, as it was not expected of his with the game he had in the final.

The full back was good in the first half but struggled against the pace of Doku who majority of the time got the better of him. Overall was decent in the attacking as well.
Raphael Varane-8
The former Real Madrid defender once again showed why he is one of the finest center backs of this generation, won every possible duels with Haaland and made some great clearances inside the box.
Lisandro Martinez-8.5
The Argentine showed why he is so badly missed at the back line for the Red Devils and shadowed a striker like Haaland for whole of the game as he did not let the striker touch the ball quite often. But unfortunately he was taken off after picking up an hamstring injury.
Diogo Dalot-7.5
The full back was brilliant in both his duties made sure no space was allowed to Bernardo Silva and attackingly also looked brilliant.
Kobbie Mainoo-7.5
Mainoo was excellent in the middle of the park, showed amazing composure with the ball and was there at the right place at the right time inside the box scoring the second goal of the game.
Sofyan Amrabat-8
The Moroccan defensive midfielder once again showed why he was brought with such hype as he was absolutely rock solid with his defensive duties, made some harsh challenges and no nonsens defending.
Alejandro Garnacho-8
The Argentine winger was amazing created problems for Gvardiol with his pace, was clever for the first goal as he pressured the lose ball forcing a mistake from the Croatian and goalkeeper, scoring in an empty net
Marcus Rashford-7
The English winger was good down the wings, sometimes shifting in the middle creating space for the fullbacks, he had good battles with Walker down the wings.
Scott McTominay-7
The Scottish midfielder was excellent in the midfield creating the chances for the side and delivering the balls in the wings and attacking whenever the side lost the ball.
Bruno Fernandes-7
Captain's performance as he lead the side well and was good on the ball showed great composure and assisted the second goal as well.
