Real Madrid won their last game against Athletic Club with Rodrygo scoring a brace for the side. The Spanish league leaders have been in great form in the current season and will be facing Manchester City in the all-important UEFA Champions League quarter-final. Madrid does not have any game scheduled ahead of the UCL clash, they have 9 days to prepare for the crucial knockout match. The Los Blancos lost to City in the previous season after being trashed by the PL champions.

City has two games scheduled ahead of the CL clash and for that reason, their head coach Pep Guardiola has shown his disinterest in the upcoming fixtures. The defending PL champions could not find any opening in the last game against Arsenal and the game ended in a goalless draw. The reigning champions have struggled against the top 6 this season.

Madrid is currently at the top of the league and is leading by 8 points over their arch-rivals FC Barcelona. On the other hand, Pep's side is placed third in the table with 3 points behind the league leaders Liverpool. On Wednesday the team will like to change their gameplay and win the game against Madrid to qualify for the semi-final.

Ancelotti is happy with the schedule

Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that he has no problem with the fixture and believes this is football. He is happy with the fact that he is getting 9 days to prepare for the big clash and the team will be in an advantageous situation as well. He also claimed the team has ample time to prepare for the game and the time will not influence the game as well and believes his boys will perform well.

Guardiola will be repairing the mistakes made against Arsenal focusing on the upcoming games and winning those matches to stay in the PL title race and the UCL. The fans will be excited to face off against the two European Giants.
