Benjamin Sesko has been one of the most exciting upcoming stars around Europe. The RB Leipzig forward will be seen in the forthcoming UEFA Euro 2024 for Slovenia. His country has been drawn against Serbia, England and Denmark and the striker will be looking to make his impact at the global stage for the nation. The 21-year-old despite having an amazing season with the German club scored 18 goals and provided 2 assists in 42 games across all competitions.

His sensational display in the upfront for Leipzig, made him the target for several clubs in Europe. The striker was in interest for Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea. The Gunners were leading the race to sign him amongst all other clubs. The North London side however was left heartbroken after he decided to extend his contract at the Red Bulls club valid until June 2029.

Previously he had a release clause of around £55m in his contract, which was undoubtedly been seen as a bargain for the English sides who were interested in signing him. As per Fabrizio Romano the news has been viral on social media, but the official confirmation is yet to come as the transfer window is still not open for the upcoming season.

Arsenal shifts focus after Sesko deal collapse

Mikel Arteta's side shifts their focus as soon as the transfer of Sesko collapsed. They will be now targeting Viktor Gyokeres, Evan Ferguson, and Joshua Zirkzee who were already in the list of the club. Sporting Lisbon is asking huge amount of fees for Gyokeres and they have taken aback, and shown their interest in Newcastle United striker Alekxander Isak.

Sesko will be hoping to continue his form in the upcoming season for the German club and try to finish at the top of the Bundesliga table as his side this time fourth in the league getting a direct place in the UEFA Champions League group stage spot. Arsenal failed to win the English Premier League title as they fumbled in towards the business end of the tournament.
