Bayern Munich will be facing Arsenal on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final 2nd leg. The Bavarians's form has been inconsistent in the ongoing season as their 11 years's dominance in the Bundesliga will come to an end after Bayer Leverkusen who are 16 points ahead win a game against Werder Bremen. Bayern despite their poor form managed to have a 2-2 draw against the Gunners at Emirates in the 1st leg and they will be hoping that they find a win in the 2nd leg and qualify for the semi-finals.

Mikel Arteta's side has been in exceptional form in the season as they are currently competing for the English Premier League title alongside the UCL. The Gunners would like to beat the Bavarians at home, however, they have a poor record against the German champions. They played excellently in the reverse fixture but failed to find the openings.

Ahead of the 2nd leg Bayern centre-back Eric Dier has dropped a comment over his team's performance. He believes that the team have rediscovered belief and confidence after beating Cologne in the Bundesliga. This was the first clean sheet in ten games for the club but they have added two more players to the list with Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman who will be missing the game against Arsenal.

We have to defend: Eric Dier

Dier said: "We have to defend as a collective on Wednesday and show the right energy. The atmosphere and the support from our fans will definitely be outstanding, and that's going to help."

This is important to be noted as Munich fans were banned from the first leg at the Emirates after letting off fireworks in two previous games, but at the home ground, they will be back supporting their side. Die further added, "I hope we can experience a fantastic night of football. The great thing about this situation is that the team that wins will actually progress."
