Ballon d'Or 2024 Power Rankings, surprising names on the list

The 2023/24 season is almost towards the end, as some of the leagues have already completed their games in the season so far, and the others are set to finish within the upcoming week. The champions of the various leagues have already been determined. The Ballon d'Or ceremony, organised by the France Football Association, will determine the best footballer of the year. Lionel Messi is the footballer with the most Golden Balls in history as he has won them 8 times. 

However, the Argentine has now left the top level of football and plays in the Major League Soccer (MLS). The footballing world will now be shifting its focus to the upcoming stars of the world. The Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo debate took centre stage over 15 years when they played in Europe as the trophy was divided between them, with the domination they showed in world football.

The upcoming talents like Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior and Florian Wirtz are some of the names that are favourites to win the trophy later this year. Messi is still in the power ranking list of Ballon d'Or

As per the GOAL, they have named 20 candidates favourites to win the trophy. They have given the power rankings as to who is in the race. Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez, Mohamed Salah, Antoine Griezmann, Bernardo Silva, and several other footballers are there in the power rankings.

As the time pass by the 20 members will come down to 10 and then to 5 and then 3 and among the three there will be a determined winner. The most surprising name in the list of Messi as the Argentine captain after leaving Europe is yet to win anything major for his country and club.
