Lionel Messi has been one of the most decorated footballers of all time. The Argentina playmaker has been currently playing in the Copa America 2024 for the nation. But, he failed to find the back of the net for the side in the two group-stage games. He is well past his prime, which has been very much visible in the ongoing quadrennial tournament. The La Albiceleste have qualified for the knockout after winning two matches in the group stage.

There is no trophy for the footballer which is yet to be achieved. The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner is in the top 20 lists to win the Golden Ball for the ninth time. However, it will not be easy as other footballers have been much better this season than him. Former FC Barcelona teammate Arturo Vidal has put forth his opinion on what will make La Pulga win the trophy.

The Chilean midfielder believes that the 37-year-old must win the Copa America in the USA to win the Golden Ball. He also spoke about the upcoming sensation Jude Bellingham who is one of the favourites to win the trophy as well, because of his sensational season with Real Madrid.

Vidal said, "I like Jude Bellingham a lot, he scores goals, he takes the ball, he does a lot of things like me, I identify with him. For Real Madrid, Jude was the best. He has to play good in the EUROs otherwise he will lose Ballon d'Or. If Leo Messi wins Copa, he can get back in the race."

He also said, about the favourites to win the Copa America, "Argentina is the number one candidate to win the Copa América. Brazil does not convince me as a team. Argentina is the number 1 candidate to win the Cup. I see it very strongly. As a team, they are very confident. They have grown a lot after the World Cup. I also like Colombia, Uruguay, and Chile."
