AIFF shortlists 3 candidates to be India's Head Coach (X)

The All India Football Federation appointed a Technical Committee to shortlist the candidates to assume the role of the Head Coach of the Indian Men's Senior Team Head Coach. The Technical Committee conducted a meeting on the 23rd of July and suggested three individuals for the role to lead the Indian Men's team.

AIFF released a statement to confirm the same, which claimed the shortlisting of three candidates for the new role. In its statement, AIFF claimed that about 170 applicants had filed their applications for the role, which was narrowed down to three. AIFF confirmed them to be Khalid Jamil, Stephen Constantine, and Stefan Tarkovic.
"The All India Football Federation's Technical Committee (TC) met virtually on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, to shortlist the applicants for the Senior Men's Indian Football Team head coach role. The TC carefully reviewed 170 applications received earlier this month and narrowed it down to three candidates – Khalid Jamil, Stephen Constantine, and Stefan Tarkovic," read AIFF's statement.

Will Stephen Constantine have his third term as the Indian Head Coach?
Among them, Constantine had previously worked for the Indian Men's Senior Team as the Head Coach in the first half of the 2000s from 2002 to 2005 and in the second half of the 2010s from 2015 to 2019. Since his exit, AIFF has been finding it hard to manage the Men's Senior Team.
In their statement, AIFF added that the TC recommended the trio for the Executive Committee, which will decide the right candidate to lead the Blue Tigers, going forward.

"The TC has recommended the resumes of the three shortlisted candidates to the Executive Committee, which will take the final call on who the next Blue Tigers head coach will be," read the statement from AIFF.
