After retiring from football, many players become managers. It is very common these days in football. Becoming a manager is not an easy task as there is a lot of pressure. Many former football players have become coaches and had success while some players didn’t get success.

5. Franz Beckenbauer

Franz Beckenbauer is regarded as one of the best football players. Franz Beckenbauer is one of the three players who won the FIFA World Cup both as manager and player. During his time as a player, Franz Beckenbauer won five Bundesliga titles which included four titles with Bayern Munich and one with Hamburg.
He also won the FIFA World Cup and Euro title with Germany in 1972 and 1974. As a manager with Germany, he won the 1990 FIFA World Cup. With Bayern Munich, he won the league title in Germany. With Marseille, he won the French league title.

Johan Cruyff changed the football game both as a player and manager. As a player, he won nine Eredivisie titles. Later he moved to Barcelona and won one La Liga title and one UEFA Champions League title. He also won three Ballon d’Or. After becoming manager, he won four La Liga titles with Barcelona and two KNVB Cups with Ajax.

During his playing days, Carlo Ancelotti was playing for AC Milan which dominated European competition and Serie A. As a player, he won the Serie A, UEFA Champions League trophy, UEFA Super Cup, and domestic trophy. After hanging his boots, he took the role of a manager. He managed teams in Italy, Germany, England and Spain.
As a manager, he won titles in the top 5 European leagues. As a manager of AC Milan, he won two UEFA Champions League titles. He is known as the most successful manager in football.

Pep Guardiola is one of the greatest players and managers for Barcelona. During his playing days, Pep Guardiola won six La Liga titles and an Olympic gold medal with Spain in 1992. After retiring from football, he took a managerial role.
He first managed the Barcelona team and won three La Liga titles and two UEFA Champions League titles. Later he moved to Germany where he won the Bundesliga and after that, he moved to Manchester City where he became one of the most successful managers in football history.

Zinedine Zidane is one of the most successful managers and players in football history. Zinedine Zidane played for Real Madrid and Juventus where he won two Serie A titles with Old Lady and one La Liga title with Real Madrid.
He also won the 1998 FIFA World Cup and 2000 UEFA Euro with France. In 2006, he took retirement from football. In 2016 he returned to football as manager of Real Madrid. He is the only manager to win three UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid.
